How much internet speed do I need?

How much internet speed do I need? That’s a great question! The amount of internet speed you need depends on your current or desired usage habits and the number of devices that will be connected to your network.

How Do You Use or Plan to Use the Internet?

In general, the more devices you have connected and the more data-intensive activities you engage in, the more bandwidth (speed) you’ll need. For example, if you use the internet for basic web browsing and email, you should be just fine with a lower-speed plan. However, if you frequently stream video or play online games, you’ll want a plan with more bandwidth to ensure smooth, uninterrupted playback and gameplay.

As a general guideline, we recommend a minimum of 15 Mbps for households with 1-2 people who primarily use the internet for web browsing, email, and social media with one device streaming video. For households with 3-5 people who stream video simultaneously, we recommend at least 20 Mbps. And for households with more than 5 people or heavy internet usage, we recommend 30+ Mbps. Know that these are just guidelines, and your specific needs may vary. Because we don’t require contracts, it’s easy to increase or decrease your plan as things change in your household. It’s as simple as shooting us a text or making a quick phone call!

If you’re unsure about what plan is right for you, you are always welcome to contact our customer service team and we can help you choose a plan that meets your needs.
