How to Run an At-Home Speed Test

First, make sure to run your speed test when no one else in the home is streaming, gaming, or downloading. Additionally, stand as close to your router as possible for the most accurate results.

Next, open a web browser and go to www.fast.com.

Then, click “Start” and allow the test to complete.

After that, review your results. You’ll see:

    • Download speed – how fast content is delivered to the devices in your home

    • Upload speed – how fast data is sent from your device to a destination outside your home

    • Ping – measures the amount of time it takes to send and receive info from your device to a destination on the internet and back to your device

Finally, take note of the numbers shown on your screen.
